FAQ

Frequently asked questions for a Certified Arborist

Why should I hire an ISA Certified Arborist?

-An arborist certified by the International Society of Arboriculture is one who has thorough experience, knowledge of the tree care industry, and has passed a comprehensive exam in the art and science of tree care. Just because someone who works on your trees has extensive experience, that may just mean they have extensive experience doing it the wrong way. ISA has a Code of Ethics implemented for all ISA Certified Arborists, this ensures a consistency from arborist to arborist that they will practice professional industry standards.

Why is topping trees so frowned upon?

-Starves the tree of necessary foliage that feeds the tree for future growth and defence.

-Causes very fast growing and weakly attatched sprouts that will soon be at high risk of falling off.

     -Causes major trunk decay.

-Much more expensive than proper pruning or even removal in the long run.

-It doesn't work, regrowth grows back faster and thicker than the natural growth of the tree.

-Sunscald, yes tree bark can be burnt from the sun.

-And last but not least, it's ugly, trees are suppose to look like trees.
